Unfortunately, it sounds too expensive for me... Have any of you tried lansky product? Can it sharpen serrated edge?

Go with the 204, bro. I can't speak from experience, yet, but I know that it looks like a sure and steady winner.
Lansky sharpeners? Well, to be truthful, I don't think they would hold a candle to the 204. But, that's just my opinion.
Good luck, in whatever you decide!

I used to own a Gatco sharpening system.. Didn't get much results out of it till I got the 203. Then, I graduated to the 204. And now, I sharpen edged tools for charity! *hee-hee!*

Got a 204 for Christmas. Read the manual and watched the video. Excellent results on PE and SE.

Golem,
I'm surprised that you can get a Lansky kit for the price of a 204. Mine cost more.
I used the Lansky system for years before getting the 204, and I now use the 204 95% of the time. When I still do use the Lansky is for reprofiling or coarsely sharpening badly dulled blades, then on to the 204 Sharpmaker for the actual sharpening. I have also found the Lansky system useful for sharpening the tip of my Spydies; particularly the small plain edged portion of serrated blades as I have trouble doing this on the Sharpmaker.
Generally, I can have the Sharpmaker setup, sharpening done and put away again before I get the Lansky kit setup ready for use.

The Lansky is a good "heavy lifting" sharpener. It will take a badly abused knife and start to reprofile it. However, that's where the usefulness ends.
The 204, on the other hand, is the best sharpener I own. This will take a butterknife dull knife and refine it to shaving sharpness.
Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.
