I was looking for something to watch on tv and I came across a show selling 172 knives for $200. They were made by Frost. I realized that each of those knives is less than $2. Then I thought that the cheapest spydie there is, ladybug, usually goes for $20. I have 7 spdies and the 204 and that I paid in excess of $300 dollars for them. Then I saw all of the spyderco knock offs. It made me feel sick to see all of that junk. The worst though is that over 300 people were buying the set. People are so stupid. I would never ever use one of those junkers. It scares me that people think those are good knives. I just pray that they never start mass selling civilian knock offs. They even had the nerve to call it surgical steel and say it was sharp and copy the spyderedge. Frost sucks. Spyderco rules. I hope everyone who bought that has every single one of those knives fail and bite them. Cheap b@stards.

iv seen that show. they sell all those frosts in big lots and make them sound like their selling spyderco, cold steel and al mar...what amazes me even more then the cheap junk is the way they try to convince you of the high quality and actually sound like they believe it. i wouldnt be suprised in the least if at least half of their customers are people buying knives for 2 bucks apiece and selling them at fleamarkets and gunshows for 5

In knives you generally get what you pay for.
Reciently my brother came up to me proud as punch showing me his new camping folder. It had a big bowie type blade and he got it for £5 ($7.50). He wanted to know if I could sharpen it with my sharpmaker as he knew how sharp my knives were.
I was very reluctant but gave it ago. The "steel" in this "knife" was so soft I had to rinse out my sharpmaker half way through, that much cr@p was coming off it !!!!
I got a nice edge on the knife (it will probably last until he cuts his first bit of paper), but I was so disgusted by this "thing" that I told my brother I would buy him a Native Lwt and give it to him as a present. He declined saying it was daft to spend that much money on a knife. Go figure ????

You get what you pay for. Yog, take the cigar for statement I agree most with on these boards! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
What I like in addition to the folders is the fixed blade collections. Bright red Dymondwood, blades which they must specify are "stainless steel". Steel covers a wide range, from 300 series for bolsters, to 440V for high wear knives. If you watch carefully, they never mention an alloy, except for "400 series" stainless.
Which alloy is it? 420J2? 440C? 420HC? The insolence of the sellers is only matched by the ignorance of the buyers.
Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.
