Bad:

Captain sky and the world of tomorrow (Great first 30 minutes, though)

TR2N (The Tron 2 they are shooting)

Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine (True title)

To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar

Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot ...

To think someone somewhere said:" Yeah, that will bring people in theaters"!!!

definitely wacky but I think those are creative titles,

for example PHANTOMS is a bad generic title, doesn't really reflect the movie,

Unbreakable - I loved the movie, the commercial for the movie and the title, was misleading to me, I had no idea that this was a superhero movie.

None off the top of my head, but I really hate it when the title of the movie is some little cutsie phrase that is in the movie...makes my head want to implode from the cookie-cutter movie nonsense. (Usually the writer's original title is completely different but it is changed by the ever so wise movie producers.)

Bad titles

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids - bad grammar

Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 - what a turkey

Good titles?

My Life as a Dog, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Vanishing Point, have to agree with The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Can we mention 'adult' titles here? There are some pretty funny ones...:)

Reservoir Dogs - love the movie, must have watched it 100 times, still have no idea how the title fits in.

Patriot Games, Hunt for Red October - great movie, great title.

Sum of all Fears - book was great, but title and movie both sucked.

"Two Mules for Sister Sarah" - quirky title but a classic Clint Eastwood western

"We Were Soldiers..." - Great title for a great movie (it's also part of the name of the book the movie was based upon as well)

Hey guys,

I love those titles for movies, especialy the old germen titles for some Kung Fu Flix.
Like for the Chinese Boxer, Wang Yu- sein Schlag war tödlich(means: his punch was deadly)
Or for "Ulzanas raid" Keine Gnade für Ulzana(no mercy for Ulzana)
Doesn´t make the movies better, but for the cinema, sure.

"A Fistfull of Dollars - the sequel, For a Few Dollars More... bad titles
The Good The Bad And the Ugly, Hang'em High, excellent titles!!!"

Don´t think they are bad titles, just literally tranlated into english.
Un Genio, due compari, un pollo, that´s the title for "the Genius" with Terence Hill, which means something like that:
One Genius, one Friend and a chicken :)
Now that´s a stupid title, don´t you think :D

Best wishes
Robert

Reservoir Dogs - love the movie, must have watched it 100 times, still have no idea how the title fits in.

Tarantino was inspired by a French movie titled 'au revoir des enfants', or something close to that. This movie supposedly share the tempo and/or structure of Reservoir Dogs. After a while it became 'that reservoir movie', and later on he incorporated it in that movie with those dudes in black suits that talk so much. Still, the title makes little sense. But it certainly ads a touch of 'art house' to it.

I agree that Lost in translation is one of the best titles because it matches the content of the movie to a tee.

I'll stick with titles I think are good.

Swimming With Sharks: an appropriate title for the movie, nice performance by Kevin Spacey as the boss from hell.

No Country For Old Men: Really fits with how Tommy Lee Jones' character feels about what's happening in the film, a transition from one era to another.

Das Boot: Great movie, but I just love saying the title for the heck of it. :)

Glengarry Glen Ross: A title that I find a lot of folks know even if they may not have seen the movie.

The Smashing Machine: A documentary pic mostly about MMA fighter Mark Kerr, who at the time of the filming was exactly that.

Dirty Harry: Became a part of the American lexicon that everyone can understand.
