Knife Knut,

Blue loctite #242 is semi-permanent (removeable) Red # 271 or 272 is permanent. You will never get that sucker off!!! Without heat.

OK, Home Depot stopped carrying it, and Lowes only had some stuff from Loctite company called Titen or some misspeling of tighten

Knife Knut,

A good auto parts store should carry it. I'd get the blue. If they don't have it try an industrial bearing or hose supplier. It can be a little pricey for a small quantity. Small tubes are usually 8.00 and larger bottles can be 30.00. I buy at King Bearing, don't know if their nationwide. I think Permatex bought out Loctite or vice versa. Make sure the threads are dry and oil free.
Hope this helps <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

For small knife screws I'd recommend another loctite
product called teflon pipe dope. It is a low torque break
loose product intended for plumbing but works great on
small bolts / screws as an anti- loosing agent. Due the small
area size smaller treads will take a lot less to hold them.
I really can't recomment any of the other loctite 's unless
you want a permanent fix. If it's clip screws try clear nail
polish first. I've had that work for me several times.
