military"s failing sharpness

i own an older model military, the one with

only 2 screws in the clip but in cpm440v.

after honing it hairshavingsharp it loses that sharpness after only 1 cardboard box so to shave again i have to hone again.

maybe older models have lower hardness?

You are probably leaving it a wire edged and then the wire falls off after cutting anything more than hair. Then you lose that edge. You may want to try sharpening it to only 40 degrees.
