Plain and simple,
If you were to write a book what would it be about?

Personally I would love to write a vampire story.
Always been a huge Dracula fan.

My Dear Friends,

Already wrote a book - it is a short story concerning, of all things, zombies.

Editing the first draft right now...

wow that is crazy,
I guess zombies are not too far from vampires, "things that go bump in the night"

speaking of which there will be a zombie walk (sort of parade) that will be held this october in down town where I live (Houston Tx)

I've written poems since age 13...used to like to write stories...I've been contemplating writing a book on my views on life, mostly just to clarify and organize my own thoughts on the subject and secondarily to educate others, should they find what I have to say of interest...

perhaps that would be better if you start it as a blog first since it's a very difficult and deep no to mention ambitious project!

although if completed I'm sure your descendants would really appreciate it :)

I've thought about that from time to time...I figured if I wrote a book then I could speak in public about it...as in being a public/motivational speaker...just as a side, fun kind of thing, since I love to teach and to speak in front of groups, any excuse to be on stage! :)

What a gas...they could see what their crazy great-grandma was thinking...:D

I've been urging my parents to write down their experiences for the future generations...there is so much history from the part of southern Europe that my family comes from that has gotten lost or is forgotten once they came to this country...

I'd probably write a book about my love of procrastination, provided I can get around to it.

Hey Bro, interesting topic.

I've written a few stories.... novel-length. Nothing published though.

Even wrote a Vampire tale. I think I sent you the link to where all my stories are posted. If I'm wrong, let me know. I think you'd really enjoy my Vampire story. :)

personally I like the idea of recycling, or perhaps in other words, an homage.

I also like it when two or more stories are combined to create a new story.

Two of my favorite stories are:
Dracula and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,

I don't see why they can't be combined, Captain Nemo was always a Dracula-esque figure to me :)

I was asked once by a film director (the winner of the New York Film festival) to write a screenplay (action story) that would star Claude Van Dam, the producers loved the screenplay...the shooting was going to take place in a Foreign country (to keep with a small budget), I was going to take 6 months off from work and live on the movie set where I would be responsible for all the fight scene choreography, and they wrote me in a small acting part as well....All was set and three weeks before scheduled filming was posed to begin Claude was admitted for re-hab for a cocaine habit...the whole project was scraped....I never wrote anything else cept for some light ballards and show music, and some country western tunes, that were rejected by United artists after 9 months of contract negotations, other than that I did write a few tv commercial jingles that were aired nationally and locally some years back...Some day I'll sit down and write some sort of book just for the fun of it....I was also asked to do some writing and train Toby Mcquire for his role in Spyderman 1...but rejected the idea as it would have taking me out of state away from work, family and teachings for an extended period of time...Plus I didn't feel Toby Mcquire was going to make a good Spyderman....(Stupid me!!!!) Well, I'm not sure where you'd be able to leave the review. That particular story thread is old, and any moderator seeing it bumped would likely not react well. So, please don't post in it.

Also, due to a weird glitch, I had to start posting chapters in two parts; after posting the first 12 chapters.

Chapter 13 was written by me, but posted under the account of JadeTheAssassin. (A lovely young woman whom I think of as the little sister I never had).

All chapters after that are in two parts, all under my account.

Please note ~
My vampire story is not for young children. Here's the link to my 5 Kings story thread. (If you prefer, just scroll past the comments left by others).

Hi Monocrom,

I read the very first part.

I'll just post my review here.
I like the interaction between Jade and Saral, names should be important and Saral is good. By having a novice you introduce the reader into the world of vampires that it's not so easy to be one. It covers what the reader expects from a vampire story, eternal lover, loneliness, the hunt,

next part, I'm glad you did some research on the subject which shows when you introduce a more in depth character Carmilla.

And a little bit of sexy in the background with the whole Dobio strip club which reminds me a bit of QT style From Dusk Til Dawn.

All in all, I believe it to capture the expectations of what people would expect from the modern vampire fans.

If I was a movie director and looking at your story as a possible script, then I would say this was a safe bet.
However as an artist, and for this subject matter I am SUPER picky and looking for innovative ideas. Still, it's very well written, to me it show cases your impressive writing skill.

No time for a book, but many of you have already read the things I've written recently. Ya'll are full of surprises! Very talented indeed. Starling, I think you'd be a great writer and Hannibal, I came across your short story recently, very, very good.

Nicely done... I'm on chapter 19 (page 21) so far. Any objections to me printing a copy off and giving it to a guy at work to read?

No objections. Just let him know who wrote it. :)
