I had to help do setup for a party on Saturday, after the party was over we were cutting streamers and the twist ties for the lights, and my friend borrowed my Native, and could not say enough good things about it. He loved how it cut thruogt the tape holding a rope light, which when he was talking gave me an idea for his wedding present, Native SS, or FRN. The ss is the closest one that I can get, but there are a few FRN north of where I live, so my question to my fellow forum peoples is this, which should I get my best bud to have as his own? The SS, or FRN?

If it is a wedding gift get an SS one so you/he can engrave it with something
Brian,
If it's a wedding gift, get him both. One engraved like Krazie suggested, for display (his name and his wife's name, the special date, etc.), and the FRN one for his daily use.
Of course, I do not know how much you are willing to spend, but if you are going to be best man that means you are very close, might as well give in luxury.
Get his wife one as well, let's get more women into this! Congrats on spreading the bug.

The SS where I live is about $95.00, add to that the cost of engraving I am thinking that it's going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $150-$200, but, I've never had anything engraved before, has anyone had something done? I'm talking like just the names and date.
"Cash, I have faint memories of that stuff."
I've had knives engraved and it typically costs between $10 and $20. I'm lucky in that I have found a good independent engraver who works out of his house. But even if you double it for... say a jewelry shop... it still isn't too expensive.
Good luck,
Gary

Yeah-Engraving should top-out at $40.00 custom. The knives can be found on-line for 40-50. So $100.00 out the door with gift wrapping.
Nice wedding present. Get them each one "just in case" dooh
