.... in the garden. It arrived this weekend right from the US (thanks Tony!), and it is a sweet all steel knife and scary sharp. Its riding in my pocket now getting a small EDC treatment :)

I just decided to benefit from the sunny evening and take a few shots in the garden. They partially turned out ok so I thought I'd share. Enjoy!

P.S.: I'd like to see it confirmed by Taz or someone else directly from the company that the handle is really completely made of H-1 steel like the price list suggests....?

Great pics.

I don't need one, but those pics kinda make me want one. :)

Yeah, that lawn isn't exactly the way an english gardener would like it :D

But it is nice as a pic background after all

Spyderco's website says the handle is "stainless steel 100% rust free". does this mean the handle is H1 steel?
thx for posting :D

It has H1 handle. I don't remember if the clip is made of H1 or Titanium.

Very nice pics! Thanks for sharing

Great pics!! Truly is a great knife, and one of the tightest lockups ever. Would love some pics of ripping up those tomatoes. Makes you wanna go in the kitchen and cook a big meal.

Very nice pics!!!! The H1 Mariner is my work/field knife. I love that it is thin in profile, but the blade spine carries the thickness all the way to the tip. Sharpens up easy on the Sharpmaker too!! I have used it in/under water, and while the handle is thin enough to close my hand around, I still find the handles a bit slippery. I might have them bead blasted at some point.

Thanx for the pics!!!!

Yeah, I love it by now. Did I mention it is scary sharp? :)

It has some horizontal play though, but that's nothing to worry about. I was bummed about the ugly scratches (http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34872), but that turned out to be removable, fortunately.

This knife will probably be one of the models that will never get the praise it deserves as a decent EDC , but it does work just fine as one, and you won't be missing a "traditional" tip, because it in fact HAS one, just not the way and in the place we are used to, yet it works totally ok or even better, since it can't snap off that easily.

Give it a try if you can. However, I wouldn't mind to see a PE variety in the lineup, too! :)
