number on blade [Archive] - Spyderco Forums

My newly aquired Moran (drop point) has "O13V" stamped on the blade. Is this a serial number or something? Thanks.

Hi Firediver,

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum.

The first 1000 knives produced of a new model are numbered. The first 200 are issued to the Collectors Club. The 013V indicates that this is Collectors Club #013, and the "V" means variant -- an additional version that the Collector is not required to purchase.

"V" is a variation of the moran under his or her number 13.The first one was the swept point and I assume you have the drop point.
