Well, I guess it depends on your defination of "Trick out."
I like to keep my cars looking clean and simple, although I do like the mean look:

This is my 96 Crown Vic Police Interceptor.
I also have a 95 Thunderbird that still needs a lot of work, but I have a 300hp engine from a Lincoln Mark VIII that's going to go into it soon :D

I love cars, but I like old cars. Well I guess "old" is subjective.
I like 1940's up to about 1972. My favorite cars are between 1964 and 1970. I used to own a 1964 Impala with a 283. I also used to own a 1972 Monte Carlo with a 350 and a 12 bolt. I love Chevy's and I really love Big Blocks. I love the older Mopars too.....but I pretty much can't stand Ford (unless it's a '69 Mustang). The only "newer" car that I like is the Grand National and they stopped making those in 1987.
Now don't get me wrong I do think that some of the new hip "ricers" are very quick (some of them). But I also think it's funny when I see them get owned by an old muscle car that they had no idea would even give them a run for the money.
Last week on the way to work I watched two kids in a Honda Civic Si all tricked out (or so they thought) start messin' around with what looked to be a 1971 Demon with a 340 badge on the side. The Civic got on it and pulled out in front by about a car length and then the guy in the Demon smashed the pedal and the rear tires left a small patch of rubber (and we were going 65) and then hooked up and just owned the Civic.
I love it when the ricer guys think that they can whoop on older muscle cars and then get banged on. Now before people start flaming I do know that there are some fast "ricers" out there. I do know of a few locally that run respectable 10's or 12's in the Quarter and I have much respect for the dudes that build them. I just favor the old cars. :)

I hear you! Old American iron is great. Some of the old European sports cars are fantastic too: 'Gull-wing' Mercedes 300, 1965 Ferrari 275 GT/B, old Alfa, Maserati, and Porsche classics, Aston Martins, Jags, the list goes on.

sure. What kind? The one foremost for me these days is my commuter car. I added a $10K battery and am currently getting between 107 and 135 MPG with about 3.5kWh of a charge per night. For me that is $.56USD a night. I also changed my keychain knife to a forest GREEN jester.

Any Japanese import guys here? I have an RSX Type-S and I love it. Smoothest transmission of any car I've driven, 25 mpg city, handling is incredible, and it's pretty darn quick. Plus it revs to like 9000rpm :D
I test drove a BMW 325ci, an Accord coupe V6, and this guy... the RSX was the only one I accidentally peeled out in pulling out into traffic.

I'm a car enthusiast as well. I'm not a gear head, but a design freak!
It's a 2001 A4 with the additions of Bilstein shocks, H&R springs, OZ Superleggera 17x8 rims with Pirelli P-Zero Nero rubber, GIAC engine software, 25% tint, RS4 grille, and my Yakima rack.
The car drives so well but there's always some problem with it! It's either a washer fluid leak or a trim piece, etc...
The drivetrain has been bullet proof at least!

i copied this from a similiar thread about a year ago:
here is my fun ride...99 mustang cobra. 15 k miles on it :D. it has dyno'd at the rear wheels 300 torque and 300 hp (around 350 at the engine) i ran a 12.9 second quarter mile in it and usually traps around 103-105 mph.
mods: catted magnaflow x pipe and mufflers, cold air intake, full length sub frame connectors, 5.0 shifter, iridium plugs, nitto drag radials
cosmetic mods: some chrome accents inside including "EJECT" cigarette llighter, full sound system with boston sub and speakers and a big snake in the front replacing the pony emblem.

I'ts great to see all those replies.
I actually only mess with Japanese import.
I've got a 92 Civic Si - Modified.
I put a 1.8 DOHC engine, and dropped a Turbo.
Just yesterday i put Carbonfiber Handles.
most parts are JDM.
Stick (obviously).
and overall i'm loving it. even though american muscle is nice... gas prices are rediculouos   I can barely afford my 1.8 liter engine... since it consumes 91 and up.
Pix coming soon... it's hoodless now, and i'm getting a CF one :o

Tony,
Gotta love a 12 second convertable. :D
Nice Mustang. I actually like that year. I don't like the model before that body and I don't like the current body style either. The last modern Mustang I liked was about the 1991 era ones. Just a nice LX with a trunk instead of hatchback and a 302. ;)

Hey Tony, that's a nice cobra you have there. Hopefully, I'll be enjoying 32 valves soon. :D
After I finish my DOHC swap on my 'bird, I would love for it to be running nearly as quick as yours (if my driving is good enough).
David, you got to love those 5.0 notchbacks :D (I had an 86 GT hatch, but I always admired the trunks too)
And razor, just curious, what are you getting for gas mileage on that setup?

I usually get 350-450 km per tank (don't know how much it is in Miles .). Keep in mind that i have very nasty habits  And i race it at least once a day with one of my other friends who share the passion for Japanese Racing cars. The car starts redline at 7000 rpm, and finishes at 9000. My car sees a lot of REDLINE. So obviously the fuel economy is not great... but it's still less expensive to "rip" than the more powerful, bigger muscle cars.... Besides, the handling on the Japs is better than on the american cars (IMHO).
And if my engine blows... I would buy another one for less than $1000 from my Mechanic, and install it with him for no charge :p

I do like cars (especially American muscle) but am not really a car junkie. However, we just bought a 06 Dodge Charger R/T with the 5.7L Hemi (mfg claimed 340hp/390 torque). Very nice luxury muscle.:D Too bad it's my wife's daily driver.:( After about 10 years of driving "mom cars", she finally decided she wanted a "hot car". She LOVES that car (and so do I) and really enjoys braggin about it too. Shoot, she's even revved on a few people trying to get them to race! My ride is a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport, pushing 140k miles now.:o
Until I had two pretty nasty wrecks on the street, I was into liter class V-Twin Sportbikes. My last ride before I hung it up was an 04 Buell XB12R. Total corner carver and torque machine. Before that it was an 03 Suzuki SV1000s and before that it was a 97 Suzuki TL1000s. I miss my bikes, just not the accidents/injuries.

Lets see... 450km is about 280 miles, and a 92 civic has an 11.9 gal tank, so approximating using 11 gallons used during the 280 miles traveled (assuming .9 gal left in the tank when you fill up) equates to about 25.5 miles per gallon.
Just for a fun comparison, the best mileage my tbird has ever gotten was 26mpg, but that was going 65 using the cruise and gas without ethanol.
After my engine swap, I hope to be getting around 20mpg on average (about half city, half interstate on my trip to work and back), that's about what I'm getting now. But I should be making close to 300hp, and with some transmission modifications, it will be a very fun ride :D (and I only paid $400 for my engine, though it has about 50K miles on it)
I'll eventually get to the handling, though I'm sure the Thunderbird can hold their own, I heard a story of a stock V6 of a similar year keeping up with a MR2 on a twisty road, but I suppose that's more dependent on driver skill. The only thing is that it weighs about 3700 pounds.
I guess it all comes down to personal preference, but I rather enjoy my American RWD V8's :D

I am a very big Volkswagen fan. But also anything European: Audi, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lotus, Volvo, and a few others.
I'm driving an 03 Golf right now. i really want to get a Passat wagon, with V6 4motion, and twincharge it. But that's far in the future. I'm going to have to stop spending money on knives first though. Not sure if that will happen

That's my DD, my brother and I did it all ourselves, bumper, steps, roofrack, lift, etc. I'm also doing a sound system overhaul, I'm looking at 2 JL audio 12W3s pushing 1000 watts, and maybe some focal midranges.
My current project is taking a bathtub bodied Ford, hopefully a 4 door, and dropping an SBC 383. I'm stripping the interior out and anything else I don't need, and caging it.

That's the company I work for, I'm the master (and only) mechanic :D Mouse over the red and white car on the homepage, that's what I mainly work on.
The red and blue Porsche is one of our cars racing at road atlanta. And we race them HARD, I've had to do some odd repairs before. If I can dig up some pictures of the others one I will, one of them makes 650 WHP and like 700 Ft-lbs and the wheel, and weighs around 3000 LBS :D
I kind of like cars.
