too many people have knives and don't treat them like they would a prize posession..... just the other day I saw a kid with a benchmade bali-song and he threw it at a tree. i thought about giving him the price listings for that very knife, and then mabey he would realize what he was doing. when my dad was training airforce students in the feild, he always used to say " a man is only as good as he treats his equipment " thats been too useful for me, I spend over two hours a week lavishing attention on my knives, and still i find things to do to fix em up and make em shine. it really ticks me off when I see something like that, but what to do? what to do? oh, yes.... i should be ordering a new spydermug very soon.....

<cringes> Somebody actually threw a BM-42 at a tree??? <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Makes me wonder about the human race.
I may work my knives hard, but I always keep them clean and sharp. One never knows when they'll be needed for something serious.
Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Wiley you should of thrown him into the tree to see how he liked it. That's how PRIZED possesions should be treated or their owners who don't respect them.

Knife Knut,
Good pic. I agree, knives should be treated with respect. They are valuable tools and care should be applied to their mainteinance. I pamper my knives more than I pamper my kids... Oh, wait... I don't have kids... <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> J/K But I DO pamper my knives. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

my girlfriend insists that its very easy to throw a butterfly...shes never been able to prove it tho cause i didnt buy my bm 42 to have it thrown at something and banged up <shudders at the very thought of it>. i would give the same advice to the benchmade throwing fool that i give my girlfriend...if you absolutly have to throw butterflys (which in my own opinion is completly useless), go get a flea market el cheapo...not an expensive one with titanium handles. itd probably survive 3..maybe 4 throws but at least when it came apart you wouldnt have lost anything of value.

I don't think it's that easy to throw a butterfly. I only managed to do this with the knife open (how else?) and locked. If the lock fails and the handles will move, I don't think anyone can control it properly.
Did you ever saw someone throwing (successfully) a non locked butterfly?
I wonder what solution has <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> for their Spyderfly <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

BIG-TARGET>>>>>>>>>"The Matrix is a system Neo. That system is our enemy. And when you're inside, and look around, what do you see...businessmen...teachers...lawyers...carpenter s...the very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured-so hopelessly dependent on the system-that they will fight to protect it."---Morpheus("The Matrix")
