I just got my MT02 in today and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to a good website to get some supplies like screws or rivets for the handles.

I saw Quickbeams thread in the general section which was very informative. But since this is my first attempt at making a handle I am not sure if I want to take a chance with epoxy and screwing up the scales then having to take them off. I have a log laying around that I am going to take the chainsaw to it then trim it up on a table saw. Hopefully I can get a decent piece that is not cracked, which is the other reason I am thinking epoxy might be a bad idea for me.

Here's a couple picts of a sample of the wood I am going to use. The sample was quickly sanded and is about 1.25"x2". The second one has a light coat of mineral oil to bring out the color a little better.

Thanks,
Kev.

Lacewood Nice!!!

Check out knifekits.com

Might not be the lowest price of anyplace, but without a doubt the easiest and most reliable. And the Hardware is great quality.

Cheers

The 2 knife suppliers I've been impressed with have been Koval and Texas Knife Supply. I have dealt with both companies and have been treated great by both. Not to mention their service and selection is great as well.

Now I don't know if either one of them carry the little screws for assembling Spyderco blades but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask them. Other than Spyderco themselves you might try a machinists supply or tool company that sells hardware for the machine tool industry.

Thanks guys those sites were great but now I want to buy more than rivets. Those Corby and Loveless fasteners look pretty slick. The mosaic pins look pretty cool also.

Thanks Tricod now I know what type of pattern to call the wood. Its actually Macadamia as in the nut. Had a tree cut down at my parents place so I am going to try to see if I can get a decent piece from it the orientation of the grain makes a huge difference.
