Would like to thank you all for the warm welcome to the forum & all the nice words.
This is the best forum I ever visited.
Some members warned me already, that the first knife will be not the last one and guess what???? I just placed the order for my second spydie!!!! Was looking for a small, little knife and found the "Dragonfly Lightweight". My local dealer told me, that he can order it for Euro 52.00 (yeahh, we have a new currency since 01JAN02). This equals round about US $46.00.
So, I'm already "infected" with the spydie virus (you all told me!!).
Take care & all the best for each single member of this forum, "upnorth"

FRN is Fiberglass Re-enforced Nylon, also known as "Zytel".
And welcome upnorth.

Upnorth,
Welcome to the Forum!
You'll find that there is wide variety of interests. While some want knives for defense, others see knives as tools.
However, most of us are somewhere in the middle.
Lately, I've become happy with the Lil Temperance (Leaf). It has a substantial, but short (3 inches) blade. With its compression lock, it is quite strong.
One way or the other, you pay for your tools!

The Harpy 50/50 is next on my list & some others!!
By the way. Contacted my doctor yesterday, who told me that he feels sorry for me, but there is nothing he can do against this "sharp virus". Guess I have to live with it and watch my money.
Problem here in Germany is the fact, that the dealers don't have any Spydies on stock, cause these knives are not that popular/well known in Germany. So, whenever you want to have a specific model he has to order it individually. I also would prefer to see & feel the knife before buying it. Found yesterday annother dealer, who offers Spydies in the Internet. Name of the company is "Toolshop.de" located in Berlin. Very reasonable prices and no shipping charges. May be this is also an interesting page for the guys in Great Britain or the Netherlands (noticed that we have some on board).
Sharp Regards & you all take care, "upnorth"
