I just finished these up, and thought maybe you guys would like to take a look. Hidden pins. These are Chef (6" blade) / Paring knife combos. Scales are cocobolo, amboyna burl, curly walnut, and maple burl.

Tony,
The hidden pins are just shorter and dont come all the way thru the scale material, and so they don't show.
The steel is AUS-8, pretty thin and flexible. Slicers....

so just some wood putty then or a lil glue and the saw dust from the wood itself? i couldnt see where the hole was so good job on it.

This is an old fashioned ice cream scoop. Cocobolo with a danish finish and solid brass hardware. Ended up being kind of challenging because I dont have a lathe. The hardware comes in a kit from rockler for 10 bucks.
