Off-Topic: Dealing with the forum

I visited the forum from my school computer lab today <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>



Something I realized, as the smileys look blurry and distorted here at home, they looked clear and beautiful at school.



Is it some setting I need to change or something?

Check the resolution your monitor is set at. 15&quot; should be at 800x600 or 1024x768 17&quot; should at least be 1024x768.

Hi KK,

I'd also check the number of colors displayed @ school vs. home PC. The higher the better however, it depends on the limitation of your video card &amp; monitor.

Try to keep your refresh rate @ 85Hz or higher. Anything lower, you'll get noticable screen flicker that will eventually give you a wicked headache.

Lastly, check the dot pitch of the monitor from school vs. the one @ home. A dot pitch with a lower number is better (clearer). For example, my monitor @ home is .25 dot pitch. A friend of mine also has a 19&quot; monitor but with a .28 dot pitch. When doing a side-by-side comparison, mine is definitely more clear.

Next term I have to do a 3 credit class on Computer Literacy. When I'm in the lab, I'll have to try that out.....

i got my computer access disabled for a week for lookin at knife sites among other things. (well mainly for hacking my way into the teacher area). keep the resolution at 800x600 or 1024x768 to stay clear
