I was just wondering if spyderco is considering a new flagship knife for their line. I could be wrong, but I've always considered this spot to be occupied by the military. While I don't own this knife it seems to be a pretty popular model among forumites.

Is spyderco considering a knife that would occupy the military's slot? What would the design be? Just curious. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

Personally, I'd consider the Police Model to be Spyderco's &quot;flagship&quot;, even though it's only available currently in stainless. Maybe the Endura or Delica.

It would be cool for Spyderco to tout a new line as their flagship, but in reality, there are so many good designs currently in the lineup, as well as ideas in consumers' minds as to what the perfect knife would be, that touting one as Spyderco's best would discourage those who disliked the design.

Clay,

I think the flagship is the knife with the most innovations. Currently that role is certainly filled by the Military with its CPM-440V steel, eccentric pivot and offset arc ramp. However I think it's about to be eclipsed by the ATR which scores with its integral compression lock, cobra hood and innovative blade design (like an upscale Jester).
