I got spoiled by Spyderco with thin handled knives, this feels much better.
This was pretty easy, there are liners, that helps. I have a beadblast finish on it, though you can't see it, it's better looking than the picutre shows.:D
Now I have another "large" knife in my rotation.

Thats amazing

I have always dreamed of a G10 D'allara.

Did you make the scales?

It's bad enough that I don't have a PE D'Allara, or any D'Allara for that matter. Now, I'm really jealous that I dont have a PE G10 D'Allara! Very nice!

Wow, really nice. I am not a big D'Allara fan, but that one could change my mind. It looks so much nicer with those G-10 scales.

Nice job!

Oh, man....that is the way the D'Allara Drop Point should have always looked. I bet those thinner scales make that thing a real gem now to use and carry.

Incredible work friend.

The D'allara is the reason I hang around here... my first knife at Spyderco; bought because it was (and still is?!) on sale at the site here. Beautiful handle work, and if I didn't love mine already, I'd make that my 'ball-lock Mule' for mods, etc.

The G-10 in the pics has kind of a 'rolled' finish... flat, and not rough like a lot of G-10. How was that done?

mhhh i like original D'Allara handle but i think G10 in D'Allara want be nice finished like in chinook i think skeletonized its the right word...

G10 its my preferite material handle.

cwt,
I put a slight, but not complete arc to the scales. I like thin but not totally flat across the whole width of the scale. The ease at the edges are kinder to these old hands.

thanks

AHH! You beat me!
Guess I'll just have to throw some nice burl or lignum on mine then! HA!

Looks great!

AWESOME mod. I like that much more than the original.

I would like the D'Allara if it were flat grind and came with scales like that.

I agree, the D'allara would be better with thinner, or G10 scales,

However, I still recomend that you pick one up. The D'allara will grow on you, and it will deff not dissapoint.

Wow that looks great. I love the G-10 on it. The main reason I didn't get one was because the handle was so fat.
