Just curious to what you fellow forumites think about this upgrade. I know many feel the price is steep.......but the trick is keeping your knife sharp enough to avoid needing the diamonds. We have sold quite a few of them, and I was simply looking for some feedback. I for one have to say that on a completely run down and dull knife, these babies bring back an edge quicker than even I thought possible. So what do you think? Good or bad. Let the opinions fly.

I guess that everyone here keeps there edges in such good condition that they haven't used them, or dont have them. As for myself, I dont have them.

You ask if they are good or bad. I think they are good but who needs it?

RYAN,
I look forward to getting a set of the diamond rods. I'm sure they will be real time savers for some old kitchen knives I've been ignoring. Are they coated on the edges also or just the flats?

Ditto on the Gizmo's message. I can't keep the kitchen knives out of the dishwasher. I'd like to sharpen up and put them away out of use of the general public

Gizmo,
The diamond rods are coated the entire way around. This includes the corners.

Hi All,

Just got my Diamond Rods in 2 days ago and have had a lot of fun with them.

I had a few knives that were in VERY bad shape and these helped a lot.

They are great when re-profiling a blade. They are very aggressive removers of material.

If you want to cut down the time it takes to bring knives from their current profile to one that is more accommodating for use with the Sharpmaker these are great.

I thought I was too late to get the Ultra Fine stones but a new shipment must have come in recently. I just ordered them and look forward to being able to put a scary sharp edge on all of my blades.

Sure you can re-profile with the gray stones but it can take quite a bit of time. The Diamond Rods are soooooo much faster.
