Oh, man, not Nurse Chapel. :(

I really liked her, especially in the original Star Trek TV series. She made those shows enjoyable and so much fun to watch. In the second link, I found it interesting how Gene Roddenberry originally cast her to be Number One, the ship's first officer in the pilot show, but the network executives did not agree. So, he kept her on the show, recasting her as Nurse Chapel. I also liked how she kept making appearances from the first Star Trek movie through Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Best wishes, Majel, on your journey into the next frontier. You will be missed.

Sorry to hear that. She was a large part of all the Star Trek series and movies. She will be missed.

About 3 weeks ago I revealed on this Forum that I got up at 5:00am CST ( USA) to see re-runs of the original Star Trek on the TV Land Channel. But they screwed it up for me recently because they took that time slot to run some of those extremely nauseous and disgusting infomercials .

I've yet to like any of the Star Trek shows better than the originals with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. In the past 5 years the cast has been dropping like flies and very few of the really young fans have little if any appreciation for how innovative that show was during that early era.

I will admit that I never paid much attention to Mrs. Roddenberry as Nurse Chapel but it seemed like she did a reasonable job for a novice actor. Her hubby Gene Roddenberry I feel should get a ton of credit for all the aftermath of all of the Star Trek movies and the successor show "Next Generation". But still I never liked any of them quite as good as I did like good ol Captain James T. Kirk and his first Science Officer Mr. Spock

I give my condolences to the Roddenberry family and to the remainder of the original Star Trek cast during this time of grief. I'm sure her and Mr. Roddenberry were very good people. They were certainly visionairies way ahead of their time. Again my condolences.
