I have Smith and Wessons, Colts, etc. but love Browning High Power pistols and have a Capitan, a 1967 T-Series, an Argentine and a 40 cal. Just wondering if there are any Hi-Power affectionados on the forum.

I am more in love with the 1911A1 then the Hi power, but I will bet my life on most things designed by JMB. It is probably my favorite 9mm with a Sig as a close second.

Just today I saw BHP thread in the photo subforum at sigforum.com (http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9666031561/m/5781053741).
Don't forget the BHP aficionado Stephen H. Camp (http://hipowers-handguns.blogspot.com/).

I own guns from all the manufactures but not the Browning High Power...I must say it has always been my holy grail of sorts...but never got my hands on one to buy at a reasonable price....I also have to say it's a great target pistol and I have always enjoyed shooting em whenever I could get my hand on one down at the range.....Doc:D

1943 Nazi proofed with tangent sights and shoulder stock
1943 Inglis Canadian w/ tangent sights
1960's production Israeli "re-import" (sort of)
2003 Hi-Power Practical (stupid accurate)
No safe queens, all carried, shot often and enjoyed

I have a High Power that I bought in '71, while I was in the Navy. Great pistol!

I read somewhere that JMB thought of the High Power as a refinement to his 1911 design. Nice gun but in 9mm I prefer the Sigs and Glocks. In a .45, I prefer the 1911.
