It's is one of the most intreging knives I've ever carried and it is fun to hand it to people and see if they can figure out how to close it.

A SPYDERCO knife is the most expensive and least effective screwdriver you will ever buy. However, we do have the

I carry my Meerkat to work and it is a super little knife. Fun to play with as well. You won't regret getting one of these.

Thanks for the replies...Now I regret ever getting rid of the SS Calypso JR PE I had...Just wondering how hard it would be to resharpen the little reverse S shaped blade on my sharpmaker...This blade style seems for useful for my needs than the plain style...

Sharpmaker has no problems with reverse S blades.

Revent may be thinking of the Forum Vesuvius (which I still anxiously await), as that has burgundy grips. However, there may be something I don't know (I hope).

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Hey Medic...

The Meerkat is great; from the phantom lock to the blade and the handle...

I lost my Walker ltwt and replaced it with a Meerkat. This little knife is totally perfect for my hand and although the blade is small, it is made larger and more powerful by the fantastic purchase of the handle. The lock, outside of the uniqueness and entertainment value is a winner because the tighter you grip, when open, the more solid it locks up. It is low profile yet effective like a scalpel. The ideal EDC for me here in CA. I am looking forward to burgundy and SE models.

In a word, this knife is "leveraged" and provides great cutting power for its size. It will become a classic.

Is the suggestion of a burgundy Meerkat likely to become a reality? Does anyone know if this is being planned? If so, when it could be available.
