Can this be carried IWB? The sheath in your pic has a "Tek-Lock." Is there another attachment? Pachucks

Horizontal Belt carry works. Vertical waist belt a no brainer. Not sure about IWB.CArlos, Carlos?

Hi Sharp1,

Wow, a Perrin with my name, uh, I mean number on it. I wasn't expecting it, but is sure is a nice surprise. I am still waiting on mine to arrive. It should be here within a week or so.

I'm still trying to widdle my list down from 16 ! It's nice to see that there will be a couple of 50/50 edges this year. Although I'm a big fan of the SpyderEdge, a combo edge IMO, is a perfect balance.

Speaking of fixed blades, were you issued the Moran drop points or did you pick them up on your own? I ask because I didn't hear/see any come through my local knife shop. And, you know me, I'd hate to miss out on an opportunity to pick up another Spydie.

BTW, nice pics, as usual. Makes me want to go camping!

Hi Pachucko & Sharp1,

There is no provision with this sheath to allow IWB carry. You can of course remove the small Tek-Lock, and use it as a neck knife with some paracord.

As an aside, how would IWB carry be different from using the mini TekLok and a belt? Maybe I'm not fully understanding the significance of "in waist band".

This sheath does not have a clip to allow wearing it securely inside the pants. It works buy putting it on the belt; either vert. or horizontally. The belt clip is movable to both positions by removing/replacing screws into provided hole sets. IWB clips work by sticking the clip over the pant/belt and the sheath, or knive itself sits completely inside the pants concealed except for the clip. That is my read. I could be out of it. I am definately outta here..... See YA

nomaded,
There is a degree of functional difference between IWB and off the belt.
First, on the belt is quite a bit more obvious(full tip to tip) exposure. Definitely not low profile. IWB exposes only the necessary portion of the knife(handle for grip and draw), lower profile especially with a dark or black shirt.
Second, with a handle loose above the belt and sheath loose below the belt, that opens up a higher chance of snagging one of the two, most likely the lower hanging portion. IWB is more low-drag.
For those that will wear this or any small, to midsized FB in a more highly physically active environment, IWB should be seriously considered as an option.

Thank KenN for the explanation of "IWB". It makes sense, tho for me, I don't think I could wear a knife that close to my body, in my waistband, well, without working out and losing some weight.
