And of course if they care every day a blade.

Sounds more like you are looking for a date to me.
I don't care if people are black, white, purple, green, orange, tall, fat, skinny, male, female, have two heads, have 60 arms....whatever.
If I were a girl I wouldn't respond to this thread because I'd think "why?".

Only because i dont remenber to know no one girl who care everyday a knife.
And in this days tv show here some sexual agressions to womans, and some aggressors they was armed with blades or, in any cases only with simply screwdrivers, so im going to think if one of these unlucky girls had time to keep from pocket one "good size" knife maybe situation want change? With good size i dont think at one military but one native or one delica for me its a good size..
I care a blade everyday, and last think i should to do with my knife its think to injury someone, but in some cases maybe one blade can help...
Just for scar, or just time to change such scary situation..
Of course its only my point of wiew..
So i asked David, not because im a racist or something like that...
But only because in this days last aggressions make me think so...

Vito,
I think your question is perfect. ;)
There are quite a few women who like knives (and not just those of us who work for knife companies). Although men who like knives certainly out number us women, we're out there.
We have several here on the Forum, TKC, Simona, Karen and Rose to name a few.

I don't know any girl who like knives, let along EDC one. But come to think of it I don't know any guys like knives either. Maybe they are just being secretive about it like I do?
Everybody has their own opinion. ;)
Good day sir.
I do think you are over reacting a bit. At an automotive forum I used to visit, a black guy asked if there are any other black owners (for whatever reasons that particular model's owner are overwhelmingly white), and a lot of people jumped in with almost exactly the same response as your second paragraph, I thought it was pretty funny that a simple question would generates that much over reaction and everybody is out to prove themselves. :D

My man Vito. I don't question your motives. Thanks for starting the thread. I wish my wife would carry a knife, gun, pepper spray, pipe wrench or anything. Sadly, despite the carnage we see in our streets, every day, my wife lacks the self-defense mindset.
Even without regard to self defense, a small knife is invaluable for envelopes, boxes, string, etc.
Thanks again Vito and please tell everyone in Potenza Italy that Mr. Bill says Buon Giorno.

I wish my wife would share the same enthusiam I do about sharp things...but in particular those that come with the Spyder symbol on them.
However, my daughters are growing up understanding that when something needs to be opened, sliced, cut, hacked, or mutilated (other than Daddy's own fingers ;) :p) then they just need to ask him for either a small knife or a large one :D
My wife is also coming to the understanding that I do carry one almost all the time and can be relied upon if she needs something cut.
Some consolation for me is that a couple of my daughters do seem to like watching me cut things and are quire proficient (under supervision) in cutting things as well.
For the sake of self defense I would love my wife to carry one as well. However, we are legislated here in Australia against carrying any weapons/ tools for self defense !!! :(

my girlfriend has a half-dozen knives or so. mostly spydies. her favorites are the captain and the cricket. :D
my mom has a pink delica... keeps it in a cup in the kitchen, with some pens. :D
quite a few gals up here in alaska carry a knife... not primarly for SD, though... mostly for regular ol' EDC cutting tasks.

My fiancee has several small knives now. At any given time she'll likely have one in her pocket, and/or one in her purse. She's slowly come to realize they are quite handy.

I think you all would be very surprised to hear that a large number of women drag their men into my studio to shop in the knife cases....why just today a couple came in and she was fascinated by a Balisong (even made me demo it) she bought a Tanto style blade for her man for his Birthday....and another women in today put a Santuko on hold as a Valentines Day gift for her hubby...she said this ought to make him happy and keep him in the kitchen....COOKING!....LOL....My better half EDC's at least two knives and I am seeing more and more women each day attracted to the sharp pointy things in my store, I think it's a good thing....Doc:D

A very appropriate question, Vito.
Seems that it may depend on a lady's understanding, or appreciation, for the need of carrying a knife. Of course, some men can be just as adverse to carrying a knife as well.
I have a female colleague at the office who can't understand why I would even consider carrying a Leatherman. On the other hand, there is another female colleague in my office who is far more well-versed on firearms and knives than I. Interesting how I seem to spend more time visiting with her. :)

Like i said i dont know womans who care knives, my girlfriend own a balysong and one nice swiss army original with aluminium orange anodized scales and i like it very much but she use to care only if we do something outdoors,
But she love DODO ;) even if still we dont own one and she like very much ladybug..
I propose to her to buy a new skeletool leathermann multitool, she is a physicist and teacher in school so maybe she can need of one small multitool with one blade when she prepare experiments in lab for children.
At same time i have an american friend who care with her everyday a sog, but no more i can remember.
Ps my girlfriend kept for me last week one sharpmaker and one native FRN!

We definitely don't need the moral police patrolling the Forum. We have TAZ! And besides, if that was the intention of the original thread author (which I seriously doubt), this Forum is a heck of a better place for that than the sleazy "hook-up" sites on the internet.

My wife has been edc'in a small blade for about 6 years now. She uses it mainly to open boxes for clients. For awhile it was a little CE Moki Firefly, but she lost it about a year and a half ago. Currently she carries in her purse a pink D4 and loves it. She's always a little surprised when she gets a comment like "hey, nice knife" or "that's a Spyderco, isn't it?". I'm also so proud of her because recently she had to fly to Houston on business and didn't want to be without a blade "since someone always seems to need something cut or opened". But she didn't want to take along her "big" Delica so she stowed away a PE Cricket in her toiletries bag.:D

Don't be to hard on David Lowery. You hang out in a forum long enough and you can recognize certain patterns. He thought he saw one and acted with good intentions for the forum. It turns out he was wrong, so he bowed out.
All is good, just different. :p

Yesterday, in class, we were playing a role game about your own opinions.....
One of the question was about "how come we are not allowed to carry knives and guns in canada".... And the kids had to guess other classmates opinions about the subject... Well guess what...
2 out of the 3 girls I have in that class are edcing knives......
I asked what are they for and one said it's for SD and the other one (wich, btw, has a slight intellectual mental illness:( ) said its for edt (every day tasks)...
I was so proud of Julie......:D

Yesterday my girlfriend bought a white sprint run spyderedge ladybug, and she said want care everyday and want start a small collection of ladybugs!
Pepper or CS sprays are outlawed here in Singapore but knife carry is ok as long as its non-auto and less than 6inch overall. I've asked the wife to carry one in her purse but she won't have anything to do with it. Not even for normal day to day tasks like opening mail, packages and etc. Admittedly she has people doing that for her at work. We have really low crime rates here if that helps but I've made it a habit of sending her to and fetching her from work everyday since we were in high school.

Still not delivery, and her ladybug serrated slept in bag..
I tried to say to her she need of something bigger, now she must wear in poket one delica or one native not less..
But of course i have to persuade her to care everyday something bigger than ladybug and hold in hand when she will wait bus in evening or when she return from work...

i'm still waiting to be run through that "wringer." my wife had no interest in owning a knife until she found out that a percentage of sales [of the pink Native] went to breast cancer research; and pink is her favorite color. now she is hooked. i think i'll buy her every pink knife that is, or becomes, available.

I have my wife carrying larger knives than I do. A PE Adventura, a PE Byrd Cara Cara and a 50/50 Endura. She says that the Cara Cara (a Valentine's Day present-she got me a Scorpius-I think I've found my soulmate) is a little big/heavy for her, the Endura is right on weight but a little large for her hands, and the Adventura/Scorpius are both nearly perfect. I agree as I've EDCed both of the two with some regularity but don't mind a large heavy folder.

my wife is not a knife nut by any means, but she carries a pe/ss cricket with her either iwb or in her handbag every day.
she doesnt like knives in the same way i, or most of the forumites here do, doesnt sharpen her own knives, but does understand treating an edge with the respect it deserves, an how handy having a knife with you can be.
she works in a small office, and frequently has to open packages. her boss asked her if she had a knife on her recently, and she spydie dropped her cricket open, and handed it to him, he was surprised at how well the odd shape cut, and commented on the sharpness of the edge.
my wifes comment - "its actually getting a bit blunt" :D
when i met my wife, she was scared of knives, and didnt like me carrying a small one with me, i am slowly corrupting her, to be a knife knut like the rest of us

My wife often forgets where they are (in her bag) and then put's a new one in her bag (without looking). So it's not uncommon for here to carry here whole stack (white Dragonfly, pink Delica, pearl Kiwi, Orange Ladybug, Green Jester with Photon). And of course also a Bug on her keychain. :)
