Hey folks,

I am interested in a gent folder. I am interested in one with a flipper thingy. The only one I can think of are the case russlocks. Are there others??? Can't afford any customs, so if anyone can point me to the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Trying to keep it under $100. Thanks

not quite like the protrusion on the russlock but the Kershaw Leek is my favorite gentlemanly flipper, Kershaws flipper models are top notch, but migh not be quite what your looking for, still great though!

That was my thought as well - a Kershaw Leek. In SS handles it is classy. The flipper works great (it is AO using Ken Onion's Speed Safe). Small, sleek knife with a great sized blade for edc.

Not crazy over speed assist , but Kershaw makes a folder I have handled recently that I really like the R.A.M. non assist but with the flipper its smooth action does not have a need for that option . Very nice knife for the money , regards MG2 .

Take a look at Chad Los Banos's "Direkt" made by Boker..super flipper retails in the $50-60 range and is quite the knife, handle is super comfy..even has a subhilt on the handle, top of the handle is straight as a board, beautiful blade & grinds, terrific coating... I prefer it over any of the speed assisted knives with tiny flippers....Doc:D

Traditional style and flippers don't usually go together, at least not with a lot of the flipper setups/mechanisms being done now. A friction folder with a tab coming off the spine of the blade would be what I'd go with. Trouble is, I don't know of a good one in your price range, unless you could score a serious deal on something like the William Henry Legacy model.

thanks all for the suggestions!

Just ordered the Kershaw Shun Higo from knifecenter.

Close enough to a traditional straight razor look. Hopefully grandpops will like it!
