Yeah dudes,
Not to be confused with the blue native on BladeForums, here's a shot of the first Spyderco Forum knife, a shell inlaid spydie logo on the Military. The Spydie belongs to golok, my buddy...

Awesome Knife, Samo - does your buddy know you have it though?!

Nah dude! I "borrowed" it from Golok for a photo shoot. About 250 numbered edition were produced with "Spyderco Forums" zapped on it, while the other 250 came numbered without the forum signature.. Yeah, the burgundy Vesuvius will be something AWESOME to pack!

Yeah, I had to retrieve the knife from Samo real quick because his saliva was dripping over all the blade.
And as you know, saliva can be corrosive.
Wonder if there's any left for sale at the Spydie Shop?
DANG!!!
I knew I should've got interested in Spydies a few months before I did...

Al,
I couldn't agree with you more. I was thinking after inverntory there must be 1 or 2 left on the shelf at S.F.O.
That first forum knife is a well done piece.

Sorry dudes ~ I hate to break the bad news, all Forum Millie had been wiped out. There may be some lurking out there at the hand of knife speculators.. Well, you can surely look forward to burgundy Vesuvius Forums knife!

The forum Military was a nice looking knife. I passed on it, but I wish I hadn't now. Oh well. The Vesuvius I doubt I'll pass on. I really like my Vesuvius now, a burgandy one will be real nice.

Personally, I think that's the largest shell inlaid bug I've ever seen on any Spydie!

Samo I´ve got two bug inlay Mils, #15 and #16. I bought two because I wanted to use one of them. However, it didn´t turn out that way. They are both being "nursed" in my cupboard
PS Is that an Arc Light AAA below the Mil?

I wonder what "type" or style of lettering will be on the new forum knife. There is a definite difference in these two from Spyderco. I still prefer the diamond engraving(less obtrusive)

Hi Acute One
Yeah, they said that consecutive numbers would have delayed the release date. Seems that it would have been worth waiting, butt that's from this side of the mirror.
Haven't dipped my tip for awhile, been fighting the danm flu. And the weather has been a bit damp. ><g> Was watching some kayaks going down the creek in the backyard and thought of you. Paddle on.

In a previous thread, Sal mentioned that diamond engraving was more costly/time consuming, this the change to laser engraving.
I agree, the diamond engraving is classier.
I think the engraving on the BF Blue Native was horrendously ugly!

Hey dePaul!
Been fishing lately? The light underneath the Millie is a Surefire 6P. It belonged to someone else! Hmmmph! I missed the forum military by inches! I think it was the most awesome forum knife ever made!

Hi Samo, no unfortunately I haven´t been fishing for a while now, mainly due to bad weather (windy, rainy).
Pitty, I can hardly wait to give my Perrin a good test. Looks like a useful fish knife! Should be a heck of a knife in the kitchen too.
I hope you are almost well now and ready for som serious fishing adventures?

Well, someday dePaul, I'm gonna land my paws on the Perrin. Heard lotsa good things about it!
Diamond engraving.. Yeah, very classy treatment to the blade! Zapping it laser is a lot more faster!

Samo, recently I received the Perrin Bowie and yes I do like it very much indeed!!
It is smaller than I thought before, seeing pics on the net. Its flat ground VG-10 blade should be very handy for most camping and fishing chores. Maybe even filleting smaller fish.
However, when I plan some serious chopping and branch cutting, I usualy carry my Gränsforsbruks little hatchet.
Tight lines!!

dePaul,
The Arc AAA is small, but well worth the money.

Blades, I already own an Arc AAA, so I agree with you. One heck of a light. However, I am thinking of getting something bigger.
