First, a little background....

In my coverage area, we have a First Responder from the local volunteer fire department who always goes above and beyond when it comes to helping us out on calls. He even lends a helping hand when it comes to doing routine things around the station on our down time and isn't beyond assisting with us with our own personal projects as well. He's very unselfish when it comes to his own time.

Second, here's what we're wanting to do for him and this is where I need the help...

We're wanting to purchase him a rescue knife, and have decided on one of the Byrd serrated models (probably the Cara Cara while it's still readily available). We're wanting to have something simple engraved on the blade if this is possible - along the lines of "Thank You! Medic 5" or something similar. Any one have any ideas of who can do this or how I can go about getting this done? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance!:)

Just about any local jewelry shop of trophy/award shop can do an engraving order like that.

I was thinking along the lines of laser engraving. Maybe an online knife dealer who does it in-house if such an animal exists.

Greetings look up things remembered stores. They can engrave most anything-- 600 stores in the US

They woudl be able to tell you if the blade engraving idea would work

I have found that SS knives work best for engraving. The sides are big and you can go wild
