Hi Sal - will there come a day in which we'll see the Compression Lock on the C36? I know that doing this will require some re-engineering of the C36 design to fit the mechanics of the CL, but IMO that knife would be a great candidate for the new lock. What are the chances of this happening? Come on fellow Military fans, stand up and be counted!

Hi Dex. Ultimately, probably. We don't want to convert too many models too quickly until we work out all of the potential glitches. The Mil Jr will probably get it first.

Ah, yes, the Mil jr. :)

Thanks Sal. When can we expect the Military Jr? I think "Cadet" is a more appropriate moniker for that one ;)

Dex, I believe the name "Cadet" belongs to Buck.

Darn, that's right. Maybe another contest for the forum to name the knife with the prize being that knife? <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I'd say to call it the &quot;Recruit,&quot; but I don't think I'd be original.

How about &quot;Reserve.&quot;

That's, among other things, either part-time military, or a quality of self-restraint, like &quot;Temperence.&quot;

The problem with names is prior use. There are only so many words. We tried to compile a &quot;name list&quot; that all of the factories could tap into, but I couldn't seem to make it work.

I was after a list that showed each name and the company that had used it, registered it or both. It would make the naming of a knife easier if all of the factories would cooperate, but I'm finding that this is in itself difficult.

Maybe AKTI could create and monitor such a thing? And one of the forumites will volunteer to build and maintain the list with Jan Billeb (exec dir or AKTI)?
