View Full Version : My Martial Blade Craft Experience!
Yesterday I completed my first MBC class with Michael Janich. Let me just say it FAR exceeded my expectations. I thought I had enough skill to defuse a bad situation before, but now I know I am capable of defending myself in a time of need. I feel more confident about my abilities, especially if caught in a bad part of town. It was fun, informative and a good workout all at the same time. Special thanks goes out to Mike and his counterpart Matt. You guys rock!! Thank you for the valuable skills I will surely carry throuhghout my life. To everyone else out there.......these coarses are most definetly worth the time, energy and money. If you want to have as much fun as I did, TAKE THE CLASS!!!! You won't be disappointed!

Glad to hear that you had a good time at the MBC class, dude!
Very valuable info, I can safely assume!
I have always wanted to particapate in one of those sessions, it sounds so benificial for anyone desiring a deeper understanding of self-protection.
I was wondering, how much does it cost to go to this course? And, is there any scheduled sessions to be held to the Northern Indiana area? I would be interested in attending, if all possible.
Thanks man!

Each class is $200 for the full 8 hours, including a Training blade for level 1 and a live blade for level 2 (a combined value of $140). If you take both classes over a back to back Saturday and Sunday, you get a price break of $350 for both coarses. Also, the cost includes a Continental style breakfast and full lunch.
As for taking MBC on the road through Spyderco, we are not doing it as of yet. I know there is talk of us taking the classes to the road in the future, but for right now they are held in beautiful Golden, CO. When more details are made available, we will post and let ya know.
If you have any questions shoot an e-mail or a post, and we'll answer ASAP. Or call us (800) 828-1925.

Congrats on the class, Ryan.
One of these days I'll make the pilgrimage to "Mecca". When I do, I'll be sure to schedule myself for one of the MBC classes.
Best wishes.

Wow! I second what Lsaulog says, one of these days... *dreaming*
The cost sounds very reasonable for everything you get.

VOTE HERE for traveling MBC classes. Also feel free to VOTE HERE for a Steve Ryan collaboration. Seriously though; I believe the price is reasonable, I would love to take all four, it would just be a pain to get up there. Has any thought been given to licensing other instructors, after suitable training of course. I would humbly volunteer to make that sacrifice--Pachucks

I'll vote for both! A Ryan model would ROCK, just stick to a useful blade style. A traveling MBC class would also be great!
