I saw a great movie the other day called "Kingdom." It involved the FBI's effort to indentify and capture a terrorist in Saudi Arabia. In the movie, actress Jennifer Garner was in a fight for her life and ended it by pulling what appeared to be a MOD model knife. The camera stays on her hand as she deftly switches to the reverse grip and goes to work on the *edited*, ending the disagreement.

It wasn't a MOD. It was a Smith & Wesson Black Ops. Great movie though.

Copied this from the forum guidelines post by TazKristi:

• Do not post any "Content" that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or racially or ethnically hateful including that pertaining to sexual orientation.

Using the term "*Edited*" probably violates this particular section.

Excuse me. The infidel in me caused me to be insensitive. I should have said "arab gentleman."

Although it wasn't directed by Michael Mann (produced this time, directed by someone else), his influence of grittiness of the action scenes and "raw" visuals are unmistakable on the film.

My favorite director for certified "Guy Films" (Last of the Mohicans, HEAT, Collateral, Miami Vice)

I agree, Michael Mann is a great director. Starting back with the old Miami Vice series through the movie Heat and beyond.

For those interested in good movies another good one is "Redition." It's also about Arab terrorists and the CIA's Extraordinary Redition program.

Michael Mann Rocks!!!

Serious Actors, Serious Action, Who Doesn't Like That????

And one of only 2 directors to actually be able to get Tom Cruise to act, actually act...

He uses SAS guys to bring reality to the action.

And he has a really great visual style as well.

^ Yep, ex-SAS "Mick Gould" (don't really think that's his real name though).

I read in his bio somewhere that Mann is a real-lfe firearms instructor. I think this is why he's able to bring this "tactical" sensibility across.
