I'm making a trade with J Smith, and need help on proccesses. I have yet to send knives in the mail or UPS/FEDEX/etc... Help?
It'll be done early March, as I'm gone next week to BC. I need all the help I can get.
Saskatchewan, Canada to Tn, US... Cross-border trade... Customs hints and such are needed.
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

I don't know about customs on a knife.I was going to send them through insured USPS in a padded envelope.Just sent a ball chain to scotland this way and did not have to fill out anything. Please if anyone can help it would be appreciated.
VW per the mail I just sent you I could send sooner but I would be worried that they might get to you before you get back.

Dude ~
Declare the knives as "tool" or "gift". That'll steer you outta taxes which will be borned to the sender or receipient.. Courier services such as UPS and FedEx are highly reliable..

Fellows,
When I made a trade with Spyderholic some time ago, I just shipped mine to him as a "cutting tool" via UPS. This was from Western Canada to Colorado. It reached him the next day. If using UPS, make sure you check prices before you ship.
VM, I would look into Canada post rates for a small "gift". I think that you want to insure it for full value "just in case", and perhaps send it registered so that you know whether the recipient got it or not. I don't know what this costs, but it's pretty safe.
Good luck - Jeff.

I could not wait.I stoped by the post office today to check on the shipping and the arrival time. They said it would take at least 5 days,so I mailed it today. With luck it will get there the same day he gets back.
