Any suggestions on quality sunglasses - or shooting/safety glasses - at the $40-50 price range? I have a Amazon gift certificate for $50 I need to use. I'm hoping to get something more durable and with better vision than the $10-$15 model sunglasses I usually pick up.

I would suggest aviator sunglasses.

I read somewhere that these are considered the best optically engineered sunglasses.

I swear by Ray-Bans. You can usually get a decent pair for around $65~$75 on sale. Although higher than your target price, I think they're well worth it.

I was already looking at getting a pair of those AO glasses so I appreciate the vote. I looked at some Ray-Bans in the optical store at Target this past Friday but am note sure I want to spend that much; if I do I am bound to lose or break the dang things.

If you don't mind increasing your price range a few dollars and you shop carefully (eBay, etc) you may be able to find a pair of Gargoyles. I'm particularly fond of the Gargoyles Classics although they do offer several other different styles. I had a pair that lasted a number of years. They are very durable, impact resistant for safety/range wear and come in a variety of lens color options.

Here's the link to their website for more info....Gargoyles (http://www.gargoylesinc.com/)

There are quite a few Bollè models on Amazon at about your price range.

I've been very happy with the ones I have. Use them almost as much as my Oakleys.

The AO glasses are great glasses at a great price. They are my regular driving sunglasses. I've tried some other, "trendy" types, but keep going back.
