I don't go there much anymore as there are few Spydercos advertised by members. The animated Ads kill my 56K dial up connection and it takes forever to load. There are so many restrictions that I just don't want the hassle anymore. I have bought and sold lots of knives there in the past, many from and to moderators. I just don't understand the new hassle and the guilt complex associated with it. Jerzee forums and Bladeforums are easy to access and have a greater variety of knives for sale and more activity. KnivesBST/Spyderco hones things to Spyderco. On most knife sights you can put the curser over the thread and get some idea of what is going on. Not so on Knifeforums. Is there something that I am missing here? I would much rather pay $25 per year to get up to date inclusive threads than to put up with slow loading ads placed for products that I have no intention of buying.
I am sure that I am ignorant of how Knifeforums is run and operated and they must have a reason for all the threatening preambles. This is just my personal opinion.

They are using an old version of VBulletin, which isn't very user friendly. I choose not to go there because a lot of the members are younger, have ZERO respect, and no manners at all. I don't like to frequent forums like that. I'd much rather conversate & buy/sell/trade with the likes of the great people here on Spyderco Forums. Knife-BST, JD and BladeForums are good as well.

Knifeforums uses FusionBB (http://www.fusionbb.com/).

Regarding the ads slowing you down on 56K - if you're running Firefox then you could try a browser add-on to block them and/or Flash objects.

As for everything else with KF, I find a lot of their choices as far as running the forum to be, well, curious.

Bingo. Get Adblock Plus for Firefox, subscribe to the Easy List USA filter list, and boom, ads are GONE GONE GONE! The browser simply doesn't load them anymore.

Well said. Takes too long to load. Too many ads. Sad.

Too many arrogant ****, and the quality of the discussions is pretty bad.
