Just got my new Endura lightweight... Good lord, that's a lot of folder. I'm used to the Native and Calypso Jr, so this is a big knife in my book.

One thing that threw me was Spyderco's advertisement of a flat grind on the 2002. I was expecting a grind like that of the Calypso. This is more of a saber grind. Oh well, it's still a very cool knife.

Is it one of the VG-10 ones??

My Endura (ATS-55) is my only EDC for me right now

Yeah, this is the 2002 in VG-10 steel.

Is it PE or SE? I'll need a couple of SE's when they're out--Pachucks

Mine is PE. Even a knife that big has to have utility uses, and I have two SE knives (Native and Rescue Jr), which is enough for heavy-duty cuts. This Endura is for show, as well as jobs requiring a longer edge.

Oh, and BTW, I also got in my 204 with the knife. This sharpener is the greatest! It took the best edge I could put on a Calypso Jr. with my ProFiles and made it shave hair with ease! This thing is scary sharp again, and I thought the best it would ever have was a utility edge.

I was wondering about the grind.I saw somewhere that they were going to be flat grind but in the catalog they looked to be hollow grind.

They are apparently called "flat, saber ground" as opposed to hollow ground. The grind works very well. I sure adore my VG-10 Delica with this new grind style.

The new VG10 Endura is one heckuva knife..Sal will have a hard time topping this one with any future version of the Endura

How about making SS versions with the VG-10 blades? The absolute best for heft, solidity, and strength. Sure, it'll cost more, but the Police SS is the only one made like this, and it's decently priced for a knife with its materials and workmanship.

Think we should start a thread on how many forumites would buy an Endura with G-10 scales?

Dunno if it would work or not, but what the heck, I would "sign" it.

I would definitely buy one, I mean Two actually. Of course it would have to have double liners--Pachucks

Start the post-VG10-Olive Drabe G10-Perfect10,I will take one or six.
Sal add a black or gold coating on the blade and a black three screw clip and I will pay up to 175.00 for it.Tip up of coarse.

A Gold or Black coating on the blade would actually prevent me from buying it.

I might buy one with a black blade, but gold no.

Have you seen the gold coating? Its not shinny and not really gold more of a bronze.Jensen has some on his site.

Oh, I guess I had the wrong idea

Do you have a pic?

Its still sort of "pimpish." Go with plain steel, maybe black. Tip up, of course, I forgot to mention that earlier--Pachucks

Black G-10 or Micarta (if you have any laying around), VG-10 blade, maybe with a black coating, and a gold powdercoated Spyderco bug in the handle. Let's make this the next forum knife!

Count me in for one. I would like VG-10 PS blade no coating, green or black g-10, 3-screw mounted black clip with a gold spydie mounted for tip up carry. Not sure about the double liners; might make it a bit heavy.

Liko- What did we Forumites tell you? The 204 is great! Excellent choice on the Endura, also. I've got one in my pocket now and it's one sweet little knife!

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

lol... Little? This is one of the biggest folders Spyderco makes! The only larger non-collaboration folders are the Catcherman, full-size Calypso, and Military, going by edge length. The Police is a long one, too.
