How good is the LT FRN Dragonfly? Is the clip strong? What kind of steel does it have?

In the land of knives, Spyderco is king.

Ya know, I would have one of those wonderful little guys, if only Shoplite.com would have sent me one! That's ok, I'm satisfied with my CF's....

As far as steel: I think that the Lwt. Dragonfly has ATS-55 steel on it. If not, then it would probably be AUS-8.

Cheers!

The Dragonfly's steel is AUS-6 for both the SS and FRN models. good light-duty steel. Not for tougher materials, though. Definitely a letter opener/box cutter type of knife.

My Lightweight Dragonfly is AUS-8 Stainless.

I had one and was quite pleased with it, and yes the clip is strong for a small FRN knife. I would still have it, if I had gotten it Spyder edge(it and a brand new 204 went to my father). I'm tempted to get another one, but will probably go with the Navigator or Salsa. RKBA!

I have both recent D'flys. The FRN is AUS-8 PE and the SS is ATS-55 SE. Love them both. BTW, both were very tight (and sharp) when received. I'm having fun breaking them in to be smooth and slick opening and closing them.

<---NOT a big fan of Dragonfly.....

I find it hard to open with one hand. Usually, if someone shows interest in the Dragonfly, I show them the Navigator. 9 times out of 10, they take the Nav and seem to be happier with it.

I use to find it hard to open with one hand due to the skinny handle, but after playing with it for about 24 hours I got used to it

Now, when I close it it slows down on closing...didn't do that before.

Navigator is in VG-10 right? I might have to upgrade my small carry

Ryan,
I prefer the flat ground blade of the 'fly. Also I believe there's a subtle difference in the blade spine profile. Everybody's got to be someplace. It's a good thing we're not all in the same place.

Weekend, yep.
