Sending More Prayers and Good Thoughts to Family Members and Fellow Officers. 3 Police Officers were shot and killed in Pittsburgh when they responded to a Domestic Disturbance 7am this morning. A 23 y/o male identified as Richard Poplawski had apparently been upset for losing his job at a glass factory. He had access to several powerful handguns including a .357and an AK-47. He was also wearing a BALLISTIC VEST during the shooting :mad::mad:. The suspect was arrested several hours later.

There were another reason he was upset, but to political to discuss and I choose not too. This info is on the net. Thanks For Listening ... Take Good Care and Be Safe Always.

God Bless :)

Four officers killed in Oakland two weeks ago. 14 civilians killed in Binghamton, NY yesterday. Now three officers killed today in Pittsburgh, with reports indicating that up to five total may have been killed/injured.

Society is collapsing in on itself.

May our fallen brothers rest in peace.

May the officers rest in peace, and may God take care of their famillies :(
I always read this sort of news with frustration. As much as I do respect freedom... sometimes it's too damn easy for any psycho to get a gun

it's too bad, man. is "domestic disturbance" different from "domestic violence?"

i know from working for a year at a women's shelter that dometic violence call-outs are statistically the most dangerous and lethal for police officers. there are some seriously messed-up people out there. there's a lot of horrible stuff that doesn't make the big headlines, every day.

much respect to the people who work hard to provide safe communities.

Basically what a "Domestic Disturbance" is ... usually the wife/husband or boyfriend/Girlfriend are in a screaming and shouting match. It can escalate into a "Domestic Violence" situation in a HEART BEAT!!! It can be a matter of seconds. From the time we get the call from dispatch and respond... Someone has been Assaulted or Worse :mad::(!!!

It is dangerous for the responding officer. Many times in the heat of the moment and the person calling is upset, angry, intoxicated ...whatever the case, that person many many times gives the dispatch a minimum of information and then hangs up. Many times it's unknown if there are weapons in the house??? We walk right into The Unknown !!! Believe it or not ...a lot of times it's a set up to get the officers hurt or WORSE!!!

For me personally ...RESPONDING TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, TRAFFIC STOPS, AND CONDUCTING BUILDING SEARCHES ...SCARE ME!!! We have to always expect the unexpected.

We get a lot of grief from folks who say we're WAY TO SERIOUS (at least I do). We don't have a choice sometimes. In society today it's hard for LEOs to trust others. At one time we were considered to be the GOOD GUYS ...Now We're Considered The BAD GUYS??? It's not an easy job. We have to be Referee, Baby Sitter, Psychologist, Psychiatrists, Marriage Counselor, Lawyer, Have ESP, and remain conducting our Patrol Duties.

While doing all this ...Be Able To Turn your EMOTIONS On/Off and ignore wanting to CHOKE THE LIVING CRAP OUT SOME DIRT BAG THAT JUST BEAT HIS WIFE OR GIRLFRIEND TO A BLOODY PULP, Raped a Young Girl, Killed an innocent bystander because he or she was drunk, or just Assaulted or Killed Your Co-Worker. Be kicked, punched, slapped, spit on, and called everything, but a man or woman. It's difficult ...there are many of us that keep doing it, because we don't know how to be anything else but LEOs ;). This is what we do ...Serve and Protect ...Pride Integrity Guts ... We put ourselves in Harms Way, So Others Don't Have To ;). Take Good Care and Be Safe Always.

God Bless All :)

Prayers sent for the deceased officer, their family, coworkers, friends, and everyone else who is caught in the Ripple Effect of this horrible incident.

Rest in peace, brothers, we have your watch.

As an aside, it is extremely likely that this guy will soon be an inmate in the institution where I work.

I'm just taking a wild guess here, but I imagine he'll be on Death Row. No guarantee on that, but looking at what he did, I imagine he'll get a death sentence in court.

There have been a lot of mass shootings and mass killings here of late :( With the economy and the unstable political condition of the country I'm afraid we'll see a lot more of this carnage in the near future :(

I've talked to some local Police here in my area and they tell me that tensions are running high even out here in the suburbs where I live. We are having a lot of violent and other types of crimes here in the Kansas City metro area.

GOD help this country. We need jobs and hope and people need to arm themselves.
