Hey lerman, THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE THROUGH YOUR GREAT PIX ;). Let me be the first to welcome you to the NEW WORLD OF CYCLING :D.
I do a lot of mountain bike cross training to keep the legs going during the down time of the BMX Racing Season. It's a BLAST ... I don't ride like a normal Mountain Biker . I have to be jumping something and blasting through turns and normally end up Bleeding Somewhere.
Enjoy the scenery ...my scenery is mostly a Blur when I ride :eek::D. Riding a bike can be an addiction. The more you ride the more you NEED it. It clears the mind and there is no limit... You Can Go As Far and As Fast As You Want. It's so relaxing and gives you that sense of Freedom. Enjoy Knifebro ...Enjoy ;). Take Good Care and Be Safe Always.
God Bless :)

what? no pictures of the bike?
don't you know we're all gear junkies?
anyway, great pics. those are some skinny cows! but i guess i've been in Texas too long where everything is bigger.
we have some excellent trails in central Texas. i have been riding for many years. i am about to purchase a single speed 29er (Gary Fisher Rig).
check it out: http://www.fisherbikes.com/bike/model/rig/bigimage

Where do you live? Looks beautiful there..I would also like to see a pic of your bike if you can. I used to ride and race mountain bikes a ton before I met my wife. I even went in the Canadian Solo 24 hour Championship in Canmore, Alberta one year, tons of fun. I got carpel tunnel, likely from work and my doctor told me to ease off on my riding. Instead I sold all the mountain bikes and bought a recumbent, it's not as much fun, but at least I still can ride a lot. Love the pics, very nice, especially the picnic, you really know how to ride in style :)
Grunt0331, I used to race nothing but Gary Fisher's, they are wicked bikes for racing. I was the first guy around here to race a 29ner, it weighed around 28lbs and sucked when trails got tight, but it would roll over everything like a tank and climb like a mountain goat, I rode it in the 24 hour race for over 100 miles off road and never had comfort issues. I also had a Gary Fisher Ziggurat, it weighed 21lbs and was a rocket off road. Also had a Redline single speed for playing around on. If I was getting another mountain bike it would be a 29ner for sure, they are a ton of fun to ride.

Nice pictures, looks like a real nice place to ride. The weather was very nice yesterday in SoCal so I was out riding myself on local trails on my SS rigid 29'er.
I am actually suppose to be picking up my new bike today from the local shop, I will post a picture once I get it.

Hi guys sorry for not replaing earlier, just got back from two days of work in the east side of israel:D, FLYBYU44 i'm from israel.
well there's a reason why i diden't post a pic of my bike, it a cheap bike from a russian company called stals, they worth the money i paid for them, most of the parts are made by shimano anyway.

thats what happens when you don't have patience to do research before you buy, when i bought them i diden't know much about bikes, but i'm planing on salling them and buying a full suspension GT (not sure which), in a few months, be sure i'll post pics when i'll buy them.
your GT looks great raven, i'v seen pics of you on your BMX, you are crazy man, just be careful.
to tell the truth i'm not a vary "extreme" kind of guy, but i do like to challenge myself physically, it's also a great healthy, cheap, "green":D way to travel and experience nature, and most of all, as you said, it's the feeling of freedom.
O,just,O, this is a light my fire spork, it's great, really useful and vary cheap, here is a link, they make some cool stuff.
