Steel noob reporting in

Can someone give me a bit of info about "1095 Cro-van" Would it be good to use for batoning and other wilderness things? How strong is it? Should I worry about moisture? Thanks in advance for any help

I wonder why no one posted an answer here...:) 1095CV is an excellent steel for tougher jobs in the field like batoning as it is pretty strong. The only 'problem' might be that it will rust when it gets into contact with moisture. I assume you're looking at a Ka-Bar with that steel...
