i was asked to make a Japanese kitchen knife with some odd to me grinding
4 foot wheel hollow grinds :D
the bigest trick was to make sure it ddint warp when i heat treated it or while grinding it

heres the info case you ddint get to some of the other forums

the steel is 52100 Rc62
asymmetrical ground hollow on a 4 foot wheel "ish"
the handle is nic-silver but cap and spacers with iron wood and spalted stabilized maple hand sanded to 1500 and buffed
308mm from the front of the handle
293mm of edge, 455 over all 43mm tall at heel just over 5 mm spine at handle and just under 5 out near the tip

let me know what you think

Nearly a foot of sharpened blade?

Still, that is amazing and beautiful. I'm loving the two wood handle and the octagonal shape :D

thanks guys
the biggest things like i said were making sure the grind was straight and the blade didn't bow and then keeping all the flats even on the slightly tapered handle
