I've started getting my clips treated from black to grey, especially on my EDCs. the blacking just doesn't last long enough to accent the knife. I've started a buissness with all my Spyderco friends, after the first and worst scratch on the clip, I treat it for free. the entire prossess takes up to an hour for one clip, both sides, and the chemicals don't harm the steel, only the blacking. EXPENSIVE S**T!!!! they look great, and it lasts forever (go figure)...

If I send you a clip, would you work your magic on it for me?

sry. all. there has been a misunderstanding w/ me and my parents, and they don't want me to have to worry about ruining someone elses
property by accident, so I'll reveal my secret.... for a really good greying, go to a hardware store and ask for "strypeeze" and steel wool or brillo pads. be sure to have an old tooth brush to help to. strypeeze is the cheapest best working chem that I have found, and other contemporary stripping chems don't work near as well. soak the clip in the strypeeze paste for an hour, then, for a grey clip, scrub in the stuff with steel wool/ tooth brush. wipe with a cloth and run under cool water for 15 minutes. then, stroke the clip with a dry peice of steel wool for about five minutes to really get it professional looking.
thanks, and sorry to you lotsablades, but i guess my parents are right.

Parents have an annoying talent of doing that from time to time, but another day, another gray hair for mom.
