Ok everone can laugh if you want but this poped into my head tonight at work.Tell me if it is a dumb idea. The scales of the dragonfly or the delica are FRN.The Photon lights case is FRN.So take the scale for one of these spydies and mold a Photon onto the end of it,integrated into the handle.Would this not be a great combo. With the Dragonfly the extra length would not be much.

Might work. However, the light would have to be weather- and waterproof, like the rest of the knife. It's definitely worth a try, maybe as a collaboration with whoever makes the Photons.

Jeff,
I think you may find it was done once before.
There was a rare knife advertised on eBay recently I cannot remember the name of the model) that had a red light in the end of the handle. Did anyone else see it? The blade looked smaller than a Delica though.

Paul

Photons are water proof.
I did not see the one on ebay but two really good names in the deal could not go wrong.

Spyderco sold a knife by G.Sakai years ago called the Fire Fly that had a one hand opening blade and a built in red LED light in the bottom of the handle. I have two of these, one in each of the color schemes. Be glad to post pictures if anybody wants to see them.
I do like the idea of a Dragonfly/Photon hybrid though. Would be hard to go wrong with!

Once upon a time in Spyderland, there was a knife called the Firefly.. <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Perhaps its time for a Superfirefly.. <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> *hee-hee!*

Great idea, J Smith!
Yup. That's what it was called, the Firefly.<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> A <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>/Photon combo sounds terrific! Of course, the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Crew would need significant interest in such a knife before they pursue. I'd sign up for at least six. Anyone else? <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Here is a pic of the yellow Firefly with a Delica and a Ladybug for scale. The big black dot on the handle of the Firefly is a kraton button that activates the red LED. I have another one around the house that is black with a yellow dot, but I could not find it this morning.
Drat; it won't let me attach the file. I try and it says :
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a004c'
Path not found
/forum/clsUpload.asp, line 231
Looks like we need a bit of tech support.

Opps, sorry about those. Looks like every time that I saw the error it still let the post go through, even though it wouldn't let me post the image.

You can buy such a knife from Myerchin.
It is called the Lightknife. There is a red LED installed clipside at the front of the knife so that you can hold the knife with the clipside button down and cut at the same time.
