Although both David and his son, Brian, have worked on Spyderco knives for years, this is the first Kiwi David has done. When I saw it, I had to have one. It arrived today, in a neat wooden box...

...and the knife. An interesting variation. Removing the rear bolsters left more room for the design...

That's an extremely handsome knife! ;)
Beautiful work, well done to all involved! It almost makes me want to go back to Kiwi collecting, almost, but I hear my Kopa's calling...........;)

BRIAN

Really nice! I like the Yellowhorse customs but never really liked the file work. This is the first one I really like, very different and discreet

It is a gorgeous Kiwi, Paul! I saw it on Ebay and resisted to bid, as I have had the strong feeling there is a man in US who will have it :D
Enjoy it, enjoy it very, very much!
And thanks for your nice photos.

Thanks gents! For anyone curious about the materials, here is the seller's description:
The handles are Black Onyx, and Orange Spiny Oyster with Fire Opal Stars and a White Turquoise Moon forming the Celestial Bodies with a nickel silver Eagle gliding over the plains.
I was so anxious to photograph it that I didn't even realize the dark marks on the spiny oyster on the left side of the knife were just gunk and not just part of the shell until after I took them. :o
And, for anyone not familiar with the Yellowstone's work, it's hard to tell because of the angle of the photo, but those marks on the right side of the blade are not scratches, they're David's mark.

I've never really cared for the yellowhorse customs before, but this one is very nice.
The question is, is it for carry or put away?

If I don't start blocking deacon's posts I think I'll start spending far too much money on knives and go bankrupt.

Congratulations Deacon
That is a beautiful design.
A lot of the customized spydies look kind of gaudy to my tastes,
but this one takes the artistry to a new level of excellence - bellisimo!
