SpydeRench

I need a SpydeRench and I heard from Spyderco it has been discontinued due quality assurance problems. Is there anyone with such item available for business?

DISCONTINUED? No....It has not been discontinued. I believe the reason it has been harder to obtain one is because they are simply that popular and functional. Hope this helps ya out. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Hi Joneca. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

We just now increasing production on the SpydeRench. We except to be caught up with backorders by summer (in the US, winter to you).

I recall reading last summer (around august of '01) that the SpydeRench was being reworked a little. Was this true? Or was the lack of product more because it's not an easy tool to make?

We have made a number of modifications. small in tolerance but the tool is being refined and improved all of the time.

I'm glad to hear that they are back in production. I had one, ordered from the factory, and was pleased with it. My son wanted to take it with him to Kenya. Doubt if I'll see it for a year or 2. Will have to get one of the new ones when available. Have been checking and no seems to have any. Oh well, will just wait till summer.
