Perhaps as this forum really gets cooking smilies might be enabled, as all too often things can get misconstrued...eg this looks a bit of a whinge. Thanks.

Lets see ... In the software they use over at Bladeforums and at (seeing if I can do a link) Benchmade www.benchmade.com (I guess not), a colon and a right parenthesis gives you a smile. Here I clicked on &quot;edit&quot; on one of the above posts, and it seems you have to put the smilie in square brackets, thus: <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> No, you don't have to use the square brackets, but the software puts them there for you. Trying a <b>boldface </b> pair ... <i>italics </i> <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

Trying various combinations:
<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> [:o] [:p] [:D] [:rolleyes:] No exotic smilies yet.

Anybody for image linking?
