Spydercard question for Sal

I am going to make a gift of a Spydercard to my sister for Christmas. She travels by plane every few weeks as part of her job. Since it is a plainedge below 4 inches it should be fine to carry in her purse?



Does she need to take it out and show it to the security guy?



I would like to avoid any problems in advance.

If your sister is going to carry the Spydercard in her purse, she should just put the purse (or carry-on) through the x-ray machine. I carry a serrated Spydercard and all I do is put my wallet in my carry-on and put it all through the x-ray machine. My wallet sets the metal detector off anyway since I have a badge in it. I also have my name engraved on all thge kives I fly with. The ONLY place that I have had even an inquirey about a knife I traveled with was in Europe. Most good jewelers can engrave and it adds a nice personal touch anyway.

Hi Eclipse. I would suggest putting the SpyderCard into her wallet with her credit cards, rather than leave it loose in the purse. Some "security" might think it too large. If it is with the cards, it is not obvious.

Dude ~ My Spydercard had &quot;survived&quot; plenty of domestic and international air travel. My trusty wallet is the best &quot;sheath&quot; for the job!! Even when there is no spydie clipped onto my pocket during those metal detector and wand scanning sessions, having the spydercard in the wallet became a very reassuring factor in my travel. When I visited the SFO, I found some spydercards which is laser-engraved!! Really cool stuff!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> I hope to do the same to my card when I visit my contacts in Singapore...
