Hello, just found this forum, great!

I have an OD Endura that I have used daily for several years, a work knife. I finally broke the clip. Was wondering if Spyderco still replaces broken clips for free? A few years back I wrote them a letter about a red Endura with a broken clip and they said I could just pay shipping.

For the record, I probably wouldn't use the OD/E as a work knife if I found one for sale today, and, my girlfriend swiped the red Endura (broken clip and all) a couple of years ago. She wont part with it long enough to get it fixed.

Thanks,

Welcome to the Forum, bro!

I would suggest that you send your Endura to Mike at Spyderco. I hear that he works magic on those broken Spydies! I'm not sure about the address, but you could call first anyway and get the info regarding shipping & handling, etc.

BTW, I think its a wise move to retire your OD Endura. You don't see those around much anymore! The new 2002 Endura's are in, with the David Boye "Dent", and VG-10 steel blades. Just talk to Glasshartt for any info on those.

Cheers!

Hi Rainman,

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum.

If I recall correctly, I think that they charge $10 for replacing those broken clips. You should call warrantee and repair to be sure.

Howdy rainman! Welcome to Spyderland!

10 bucks will get your OD fixed to showroom quality. Of course, you could always sell it and easily get enough money for a new Endura.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Thanks to all. I'll call soon to find out the details. Meanwhile, Ill be looking at the new Endura to replace the one I have. It has seen more use than I would like, has been used to cut sod and lots of other things it probably wasn't designed to cut. I'll use a Dremel to re-make the serrations then sharpen it up and retire it.
There is something to be said about a knife that -never- gets left at home (ok, I didn't take it in federal buildings 'cause I hated to see it go in a bag). An always-with-you knife is the one that gets used for everything, and , maybe shouldn't be a knife that will have collection value. A plain jane black Endura would have worked just as well.
Hindsight is 20/20.
Thanks again,

Hey, it all goes back to that old saying:

"Live and learn"

You'll be happy with the new Endura. Those babies have seen yet another upgrade and are totally awesome! Try to get one with VG-10 steel in it, its great stuff.

Cheers!
