My knife arrived today (250 of 500) and it is absolutely gorgeous! It's got the sleekest most beautiful lines I've seen on a . Now I know why Jeff equated it with sex...

Nice job Sal!

I've got to say the Vesuvius has restored my faith in FRN as a handle material, mind you the twin full length steel nested liners don't hurt

Love the inlaid bug, touch of class. And the open back makes cleaning a breeze.
I like the blade grinds, gives the thin blade pleanty of strength. Anyone notice the swedge is ground differently on each side ? On the forum inscription side the swedge is a rounded grind line, but on the other side the grind line is straight.

The only thing I did notice was that the thumb recess for the lock seemed a bit small, possibly it could be a bit bigger ?

Whoa. The Vesuvius has double steel liners? I've never seen one "live." Is this all of them, or just the forum model?

Thanks, Pachucks

I don't know about the basic Vesuvius's, but if they do have nested steel liners I would have thought they would have mentioned it as a strong selling point.

All Clipits with compression locks and synthetic handles (G10, FRN, etc) have dual steel liners.

Thanks, Thats what I like about this forum, lots of answers to lots of questions. I feel so Spydie-impaired sometimes living in a Spydie-less town; you can't look at, hold, or inspect a knife before you buy it.
Thanks again, Pachucks

I've only had the Vesuvius for 2 days and already I want another one .
I was really surprised at the quality and usefulness of this knife, mind you I should know better, I think this with every new Spydie :p

I've got the office side sorted with the Cricket, but was looking for a backup knife for when I thought I was going to be in the office and then got wisked out on site.
Thought it might have been a Native (love carrying it at weekends), but now think it might be a Combo Vesuvius.
