I asked at the forum shop and they said they have no idea when they will be available.

Hmmm, what's the difference between all these Harpy's? Is it the steel of the blade, the kind of handle?

The Harpy has been upgraded to a blade steel of VG-10 for 2002 (used to be ATS-55)

Also for 2002 they are making a plain edge (PE) Harpy instead of just the normal ol' serrated one.

VG-10 cuts better, and holds an edge longer than ATS-55.

G-10 Harpy is an old Harpy that is now discontinued with G-10 as it's handle material.

As far as I can find out, the PE Harpy is not available, and will not be available any time soon, if ever. Sorry <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I'll try checking into this as well guys, as according to the 2002 catalog (Dealer), the Harpy is supposed to be available in plainedge.

I think this is pretty official: a reply I got by email from Susan of spyderco...

&quot;I looked &amp; sure enough our catalog does say PlainEdge or SpyderEdge. My
apologies for the confusion, however that it a misprint. It is only in
Serrated in the Stainless version. We do have a Plainedge in the
lightweight version only. Have a great day.&quot;

The plainedge bit in the catologue is a MISPRINT!!! How sad. I originally wanted to get one PE harpy...

By the way, anyone heard anything new about the ocelot? haven't heard about that for a while...
