Too funny, I wondered if they were ever going to get to the blade or if it even had one.
But you sure can't go wrong with any knife that has "antimicrobial inhibitors" incorporated directly and permanently into the Gusto Grip handles, course I don't need to tell you that ;)

Don't buy that crap Tony...have her look at Boker's website at the Ceramic Santuko, (explain hardly ever needs sharpening). Still better to look for a Spyderco Santuko, that knife is awesome, been using three in the kitchen for over 15 years...FWIW, The Boker ceramic is nice...Doc:D

I think a few people are missing the point here ... it is colourful and endorsed by a woman ... so it must be good

Get it for her. Then, unless you already have one, hope a Spyderco Homemaker shows up for sale.

Hi Tony. It's definitely a girl thing, my wife wants exactly one of those...
Although, if I were to choose, I'd pick something like this :D:

Once you get it you can always misplace it. ;)

One page says it is CrMoV. (Probably not made at the same factory as the CrMoV Spydercos. :p ) It is also part of the "basics" line.
I guess it could be worse.

Doesn't look too bad. My wife constantly uses this piece of crap paring knife I get at Walmart when I was working in camp. I brought it home and threw it in out cutlery drawer. She thought someone left it at our place while visiting because I never told her I bought it. She brought it up to me one day and said, "Look at this fancy knife someone left here." I told her it was a piece of junk that I bought at Walmart for $2. She is so attached to it and I try to sharpen it for her, but it's impossible as the steel won't take an edge at all. I get it semi sharp and then she abuses the hell out of it for a couple of months until she wants it sharp again. I just use my Sebenza for a paring knife, twice as sharp as anything in our kitchen. :D

The question becomes if you get a Rachael Ray to go with it for yourself ;)

Buy the knife for her.... When it comes in the mail take the package to a secret location and swap the bade for your spydie ;)
Say "Look honey, the knife is here!!!!!!!!!!!"
Let her open it and then be surprised and say" WOW, I think they must have a new contract with spyderco!"
Done.

Tony, go ahead and get it for her and just say you need that supercharger (if you haven't gotten it already)
:D
Tony, if you want piece in your home, buy what your wife wants. And to free space in your home, send old knives to me. I will pay shipping :D:)

Well you never know just how good it might be:p...The wife and I bought one of those amazing as seen on TV Ginsu Knives some 25 years ago...we don't use it much but I have never sharpened it, it still saws through aluminum cans, cuts big ice blocks and still carves the Thanksgiving Turkey each year.....it's a piece of crap but to my amazement it keeps on working...year after year....If you get her the knife make her promise that she doesn't cook you any of Rachael Ray's Dishes...or your life expectancy will be lower than the knifes.....Doc:D

Agreed! There could be worse things then her wanting a knife. Consider yourself lucky she could want flowers or something. A dozen knives sounds much more interesting.
My condolences, Tony. My wife got one, as well.
The knife is not all that great. Hard as hell to sharpen, and doesn't hold an edge at all.
This morning my wife said, "The way you sharpen that knife, it doesn't stay sharp for long." I've tried explaining that the steal is garbage. "Hell, honey, why don't I just go out in the yard, pick up a dog turd, and try to sharpen THAT?!"
Buy the knife for her; she won't rest until she gets it. Incidentally, my wife uses hers all the time and "loves" it, even though it won't cut worth a crap.
A buddy of mine who's a knifemaker sent me a custom santoku made from RWL-34. Chisel grind. My wife hates it.
