It's like that car crash you pass on the 405 during rush hour. Or maybe that terrorist attack in the subway. It can never happen to you. One minute you're sitting blissfully on some friends couch. The next minute your world is shattered when you hear a sickening "SNAP!" emanating from your pocket.

After a moan that sounds more animal than human you look down. You see the lesser – but most useful - part of your prized dress knife sticking out from the fabric couch. The feeling can be akin to having a tooth knocked out or leg chopped off. You're still the same person. You'll live... but never be as naive or invincible as you once were.

I drink to you tonight! All you who have thought that you too were once invincible and insurmountable!

Umm. Maybe you should hand that drink over. I think you've had enough.

Yeah, yeah. People have no respect for tragidy anymore. :-p

The real problem is the fact that I have to call SFO. I just know I'll be calling for a five dollar clip and ordering a new forum knife as well. ;-)

Have you considered therapy for your sorrow?
