Hey guys,

I have a knife coming in and it happens to have a titanium handle that was partially, "professionally" anodized on the lower half. Is there a way to go about removing this? Would I need to take this to a knife maker and have him remove it with a special method? I'm not too familiar with the anodizing process.

Many thanks,
-Chris

anodizing is the opposite of cathodizing or "electroplating." Most anodized coatings can be buffed off, removal often consists of etching and buffing. Noxon may work for you.

good luck

Actually, Easy Off oven cleaner and some elbow grease works like a charm. We used to use it on BMX parts back in the day.
